hi folks

there is a beach near where i live that i have been told is permit only since it is near the mouth of the spey and seatrout are commonly caught from it. there is good fishing for mackerel and bass from this area at the right time of year. if i am fishing for these species and return all seatrout do i still need a permit?

There is a limit of distance that you can fish from the mouth of the spey that requires you to have a permit. If you go into Des's tackle shop in Elgin he has all the info you need.
