Was fishing Seaford beach Saturday from 10am to 2pm, 12.00 high tide. Clear water, northern wind. Surprising only 20x anglers on the beach despite the perfect flat fish weather conditions. First fish came 5 minutes after first cast, 36cm long plaice, second fish founder 26cm, 40 minutes later, than another plaice 34cm and sole 31cm. Plaice and sole on blacks, flounder on rag.
I also feathered 23 mackerels which were about 50 meters away, so long cast was needed.
Downside: two 100 meters long nets about 400 meters from the beach, possibly netted plenty of fish.

Nice catch and report. Just for future reference it looks might you at have caught a Shad amongst your mackerel which I think are protected. Don’t think it’s a herring.

Well done, i was down there same time Sunday not a bite on flattie rigs using fresh and frozen blacks or any mackerel to feathers, didn't see any one else catch either, as you said perfect conditions for flatties, i was after plaice, couldn't believed i blanked, what a difference 24hrs makes.
