Went up last August for week in caravan. Saw guy fishing for flatties in the harbour. Must have only been couple of feet of water as tide coming in. Guy said there was still fish there.
Boats offer fishing and prices for different time periods. Think the least is about 3hrs.
Water looks great especially round Holy Island. Plenty of seals so there must be fish.
Just as the causeway starts there is a road bridge over a gulley. I was talking with a local there a few years back who said as the tide drops off walk onto the bridge and drop yer mussel bait over the railings(downtide) into the gulley and wait for the big coalies to take. Never had my rod so couldn`t try it but I did look down there and it did look `fishy` if you get the idea. Maybe some other locals can verify this.
