I will be staying in west bay in July and hope to bag a s/e ray from Seatown or Charmouth. Have fished Charmouth before and had small ones and fancy giving Seatown a go, but am not sure which part of the beach to fish and the best tides, conditions and bait to use. Could anybody advise?

fished seatown in a match last week and it was very poor, had one doggie ana two undersized pout.
tried for a ray but none about. you will have to park on the road if you want to fish past 9.00pm (advisable if you want a ray) as the bloody carpark closes at 9.00! as you get onto the beach, walk to your left and look up at the top of the cliff, keep walkin until you see a fence post which looks as if it is about to fall off, stop walking when you get to it and start fishing. its is about a 1min walk.
use big squid/sandeel baits on a running leger at about 30-60 yrds out.
hope this helps, post how you get on.
