Hi! I am a beginner in sea fishing. Therefore I would like to ask you what rod should I use for shore fishing.
I already have 12ft Fladen powerstick with a fixed spool reel.
I have received a Okuma Classic CL30L as a gift with my SeaAngler subscription.
I have never used a multiplier before, but now I want to try it, just need a suitable rod to the reel.
Can you give me an advice, what kind of rod and line to chose? Please specify the model and appr. price.
Thanks!

I was under the impression that the Okuma CL30L is a boat reel? If it is anything like the old Okuma Classic series - i.e. complete graphite frame + levelwind?

If so you'll find it impossible to cast with as there is no access for your thumb onto the spool and the spool capacity is overlarge for shore fishing. Even if you can control the spool during casting, the levelwind will seriously hamper any distance achieved with it. Starting with this may well put you off multi's (for shore casting) for life.

On the other hand these are great entry-level boat reels that can take a lot of stick and cover all kinds of inshore upto light wreck fishing.
