well after dropping of the daughter for her dance practice i had the chance to have a fish for 3 hours before picking her up again, well got to my chosen spot just after 5pm, baits were rag, crab, frozen blacks and mack, decided to put gay rigs on with small baits, with 2 hooks on each rod, well had a good rattle in the first 5 mins of casting, but missed it:doh: but next chuck resulted in a doggy, then another, and another, just as the light was going i had good rattle on the rod close in, with a fish on and a good little scrap going on, my first thoughts were its got to be a bass, as it got under my feet i noticed something pinky/red just under the water. then it came to the top and OMG it was a red mullet, and a half decent one at that, i would of put it at 2/ 2 and a half pound, but i will never know as the f,,,,,g hook pulled:wallbash: the words that came out of my mouth were a bit strong to say the least:whistling. after calming down i continued fishing, thinking praps another one will come along, but know it didnt happen, but all wasnt lost, on my last cast had a good bite witch ended up being a bass of just over 3lb, so happy days:yeah:
i think i will be going back to this mark again to try and land one of its hidden jems. praps i will show mr reed one day.:secret: and thanks Aj for your info:thumbs: it all paid of in the end.
