Tried Pagham last Monday, but it was unfishable due to wind and weed.Hi
Has anyone fished either of these venues recently? Im down in Selsey next week and will prob have to fish East beach or Pagham cos of this constant SW wind? Any reports appreciated, Ta'
Hey Ada. I was East of you for the daytime (Green beach shelter by the pipe) Very hard work, with a sustained 30mph wind for a good part of the afternoon. Managed three dogs, two hounds and two eels. Weed was worse over the low tide, but still very fishable. Will fish better after a settled spell and on bigger tides.Pagham was fishable tonight (Sat).
Water was coloured (not ideal for bream) and wind was F 6 - 7 (up to 38kts mid-afternoon) and blowing straight along W -> E.
There were two club matches on and I went right up to the first groyne hoping to be shielded from the wind and weed. Wind was manageable, but weed was difficult in spells.
2 dogs for me (hard work!).
Walking back (10-30pm), I didn't hear of anything other than dogs being caught. Probably fish better when the wind goes NW later in the week; although big springs will bring more weed.

Mate..........You two are definite tryers I'll give you that!! :notworthy Well done for the effort guys; and a great report. :clap3:Had all day to prepare as HW wasnt till 9pm.
On local advice from a reliable source,we went to a "secret" mark
on arrival at Hayling Island to get some much needed
live crab baits.
Terry wimped out,and idiot here braved the freeezin SW wind
and marched out onto the weedy rock strewn beach.
Let me tell ya.there aint a rock without my finger prints on it
but try as I might...no little soft back bleeders could I find.
and as for slipper limpet........................say no more.
Me and my empty bucket returned to the warmth of the car
mumbling.........."some crab haven"
Anyway, bait and bits sorted from the local tackle shop we ventured to Pagham.
Parked in the high street, which by the way......
gets 1 out of 10 for an impression of a typical british holiday
venue....1 penny arcade/1takeaway/1 candy floss stand.
Set up 300yds left of the Yacht club, on what is in my opinion a featureless shingle beach a local angler tells us
yes mate,A guy further up has already had 3 doggies
so were bouyant..!!!
The wind is with tide, rippin from right to left..........
brolly............forget it..!!!!!!!!
Nestled down in me chair awaiting some action, some 20 or 30 other club anglers descended onto the beach....mini matches
everywhere.....good luck to em me thinks.
Rag and squid on size 2 hook rigs with whole squid or crab
on my close rod remained untouched.........
An hour b4 HW ....."Weed"
I chuckle to meself,as I watch the whole beach go into
washing line mode......and I mean whole beach.......lol
2 hrs of collecting enough weed to keep a chinese seaweed
soup kitchen going for months....has us thinking
Its Not to be....!!!!!!!!!! I didnt see a fish caught at all.
A few shore and spiders were my only contribution,Terry
had a couple of bites...but ..I did feel for him.I had sourced this outing and was hoping for a few fish......sorry Tell !!!
3 hrs up and 2 hrs down saw us pull the plug at 11pm...fishless
No Bream.....No Smoothies.....No Bass.....No nuffin..!!
I think it puts our mood in perspective, when I say we marched
past the rear of the Yacht club and watched through the window
a a stripper was doing her thing to the cheers of the locals...
..........So bloody wot.......I was cold and tired
This red blooded male.........was beaten..!!
The last thing I remember is Terrys sat nav (girlfriend)
calling out the route home........zzzzzzZZZZZZZZZ
SAY NO MORE...!!!!!!!!!!
another 200 mile round trip for nada
we,ll be back..!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers
Gaz and Tell..!!!!!
