Hi matey, I think there might be a few smoothounds around still but the local guys will be able to tell you better.

I have usually done ok at Pagham and on the Selsey West beach. Best to pick a high tide just after dark and chuck out a peeler crab on a single 3/0 rig. Hermit crab can do it as well. Make sure you have a fairly strong hook length and shockleader and put your clutch on a fairly loose setting unless you intend to stand right next to your rod .

I'm sure the other guys can also give some useful info too.
Cheers

Hi Mate
Head for the caravan park in selsey and follow round until you come to a windmill and then fish just to the right or left and im sure you will have fun with the hou8nds, also id use a 3/0 pulley rig baited with live peeler
