theres lots of people fishing the wall lastnight and the rocks so there is no spots but there racking them outAs gazmonster said good going for an hours fishing.
They have been around now since early August! very hit and miss though. there one tide gone another.
Trouble is now gunna have to get there 5hrs early to get a spot.:bangin:
Its gunna become a littter fest, and every codling from about 8 inches is gunna be classed as a keeper:whistling
ok,, but how big????theres lots of people fishing the wall lastnight and the rocks so there is no spots but there racking them out
How much do you want for it Ross?...I know what your like...:roll1:we fished there the other night and had 4 very small, largest was probs just a keeper but all went back... and watch ya gear lads, my mate had his headlamp nicked by some kids when we were down there... little blighters!

Nice to see the cod are around and in good numbers. :fish:
Excactly gunna be a freak show down there now!!theres lots of people fishing the wall lastnight and the rocks so there is no spots but there racking them out
It's not all bad Karl, Let the crowds all get tangled I say. I'd just sit and watch'em, then go collect all their lost gear.Excactly gunna be a freak show down there now!!
Best avoided unless you like everybody setting up 5ft next to you, unable to hold in the tide with their 4oz plain bombs, tangled lines, casting over the top of you and idiots trying to pendulumn cast and not using leaders! Bait wrappers everywhere! Oh yea all those nice cars for the local scum to break into. need i go on........................ It happens every year down hear its like chesil with the feather chuckers in the summer!
See I knew your plan. Put me in the snaggy spots then go get me leads.:roll1:It's not all bad Karl, Let the crowds all get tangled I say. I'd just sit and watch'em, then go collect all their lost gear.
I wandered down portishead at low today armed with a bucket and some scissors, I ended up with 22 leads in 20 minutes. Some of the gear was questionable to say the least. But it all gets melted down to make shiny new namix
Peanut fair play to the guys catchin loads of codling, but the trick with the channel is to go where you think's right at the time, cos they'll be gone again the next tide. Upper channel in general is always a safer bet than mid or lower channel this time of year, but the fish can show anywhere. Personally I prefer the odds of my bait amongst 2 or 3 others maximum, as opposed to a place with 30 or 40 baits in the water. Layde bay was always the same in the 90's, one 10lb cod and next week 40 anglers all blanking, then when it's quiet another biggun comes out.
you can have the grip wires and loops backSee I knew your plan. Put me in the snaggy spots then go get me leads.:roll1:
karlos i got a mate like that!! your be better off fishing to the right to find i lose every lead i chucked in then a couple of days later oh found a load of leads yesterday lol !!!See I knew your plan. Put me in the snaggy spots then go get me leads.:roll1:
dont call him that watever u do. he'l be rolling in his glory if u do.he will be wanting a crown and a little slave to do all his baiting up for him next!:bleh:karlos i got a mate like that!! your be better off fishing to the right to find i lose every lead i chucked in then a couple of days later oh found a load of leads yesterday lol !!!

Gaz, that rig was found, chopped into a million pieces and ceremoniously burnt as an offering to the gods of the cods.
I'm out tomorrow and gonna get a proper lunker, fed up with doubles, thats 6 this year
