SHAKESPEARE FULMAR LEVER DRAG MULTIPLIER BOAT REEL Anyone used one of these for fishing for big game at all. Have been offered a couple at £50 each. Not sure if thats good or not. Good quality?

No, K2, the parent company of, amongst other brands, Shakespeare, bought Penn. Just as Jardin, the parent company of Coleman lamps (amongst other brands) recently bought Pure Fishing.

I was given one as a present,first time I used it hooked a 20lb conger in a light tide off Aberthaw,drag gave up and had to handline it in!I wouldn't pay 50p for one!

Ermmm....I never misquoted at all,thats what was reported.As an example of what we all know go's on in the corporate World,Ford aquired Jaguar,Jaguar are still there own brand...All but built from cheaper Ford components.
I really couldn't less as to who owns who but when people are comparing quality the truth needs to be told.
