How and when can i use scalop cockles and oyesters as baits, also can you eat big i mean massive cockles if so how do you eat them, any advice and help would be much appreciated.

Yes mussels are used as bait up north quite a bit. If you are talking about Buck Whelks, boil them then soak them in Vinegar
