Started just after 430pm sea was like a mill pond i was hoping for some dabs and was also gonna try and get an early ray .tried blacks/macky and various combos with lug and rag but i coudnt get a dab Dave managed to fnd some dabs amonst the whiting,then i got a dab and a rockling ,was having no luck with the macky fillets for rays so i whipped 3 rag to the macky and got rewarded a nice thorny 4 3/4lb [never had a ray in feb before]well chuffed.
Finished with 1x rockling 3xdabs 19xwhiting 1x thornback ray,Think Dave had 6xdabs and load of whiting.
Really enjoyable session.

Nice session. Last January I had 22 rays in 3 trips but I haven't even been yet this year. I must try to get down there soon as south cost trips for plaice are also beckoning. Sometimes when you don't go for a while you need a kick up the backside to start again.

I nearly loaded the van up last night for a trip Sizewell way… the log burner and the cuppas said otherwise. Hopefully will get out during the week.

I stocked my freezer up in the autumn and it's still full lol. Once I go I know I'll get the bug again whether it's plaice or rays.
