Nice session. Last January I had 22 rays in 3 trips but I haven't even been yet this year. I must try to get down there soon as south cost trips for plaice are also beckoning. Sometimes when you don't go for a while you need a kick up the backside to start again.
Shingle Street
Started just after 430pm sea was like a mill pond i was hoping for some dabs and was also gonna try and get an early ray .tried blacks/macky and various combos with lug and rag but i coudnt get a dab Dave managed to fnd some dabs amonst the whiting,then i got a dab and a rockling ,was having no luck with the macky fillets for rays so i whipped 3 rag to the macky and got rewarded a nice thorny 4 3/4lb [never had a ray in feb before]well chuffed.
Finished with 1x rockling 3xdabs 19xwhiting 1x thornback ray,Think Dave had 6xdabs and load of whiting.
Really enjoyable session.

I stocked my freezer up in the autumn and it's still full lol. Once I go I know I'll get the bug again whether it's plaice or rays.22 in january is very impressive id never had one before april until friday caught about an hour after high,I know what you mean about needing kick a kick up the rear didnt have many sessions last year must do better this year.Good luck on the plaice.
