Decided to give up on an Essex codling and try for a ray at shingle Street.
Got up at stupid o'clock and was on the beach by 5am. Fished alone this session as Nutsy doesn't like to leave Essex!
Only one other guy fishing so got to my favourite spot and turfed out 2 p

ulley droppers with squid bluey/herring wraps. Weather was mild with a gentle south easterly breeze.
Pretty soon the sun was coming up and it was very pleasant fishing.
The fishing was pretty slow and I started to try some different types of fish combinations. all to no avail with only a handful of whiting to show for my efforts, slightly bigger than of late but still no substitute for a ray!
Fished 3 hours down but the wind increased slightly and by now the rain had arrived. Dont know about you but I'm fed up with getting soaked every weekend ! No weed today and would be interested to know if it fishes better tonight.
