sikaflex is good stuff but expensive if you buy it from a chandlery.

you can get 291 on ebay for £8.99 delivered which isn't too bad.

i use it a fair bit but i also use stuff called PU FLEX

its half the price and is pretty much the same stuff.

both are polyurethane sealants.

i have used PU FLEX above and below waterline without any problems.

I use marine adhesive sealant from Ideal Seals less than £4 a tube. You will never get it off so if you are ever likely to want to remove something use Butyl Rubber sealant same place.

I also use the PU40 now called Puraflex 40 from toolstation £3.92 for 300gram cartridge . Has held my rod holders and boat hook brackets stuck in place for 4 years now .

Best stuff ive ever used is DP2246 from alpha adhesives ( used to be dunlop adhesives). Amazing stuff. Its moisture cure polyurethane but finishes like a silicone with nice smooth shiny finish. Its pretty much permanent so dont plan on removing it. It goes off quicker than most others ive used. Not cheap but can be found on ebay and specialist dealers.

I use MarineFlex its very, very good and cheap if bought by the box, i do use Sikaflex 291 but i find the white discolours to a cream, so if its visible it looks crap relatively quickly it is an excellent sealer though and lasts much longer in the tube than Marineflex.

The other stuff i use in 'Construction Adhesive' its another PU product, but can be found in lots of small hardware shops that might not keep Sikaflex, i've never seen MarineFlex in any shop or chandlery.
