I will be around there first two weeks in August too. Any advice on marks bait collecting etc appreciated. Any local clubs who would not mind a couple of guests fishing with them.

Hi Guys

I have not fished this area for a long time as I am now based overseas, however from memory.....

Silloth is famous for its flounder fishing - and at times huge bags can be caught. The only bait worth considering is peeler crab.

Try fishing at the Skinburness end for flounder or at Tommy Legs (you will see the structure in the water) for flounder and the odd bass.

Species available are flounders, dabs, eels and bass.

Cheers

Dave
