I got one Ken, still my favourite go to rod, and still in mint condition ! They not only look the part, but are very capable rods. They are unfortunately like rocking horse s**t to try and source these days. Not sure how much they are worth either. Good luck in your search.

I got one factory fresh a couple of years ago...it's not for sale. Most beautiful fishing rod I have ever seen and very good at it's job.

I got it off ebay but not from the uk. I went on ebay.de and ended up getting it for £18 plus about the same again postage wise. I have had a good few things of german ebay from people happy to post to the uk but who didn't list things on ebay.co.uk

Marktplaats.nl has some interesting silstar stuff on if most of the time and might be worth a look as several traders who are happy to ship to the uk post on there. I just missed out on an edge beach caster to go with my edge bass a while back.

Are you sure it it 12ft? Mine is 11 ft 6 and has yellow tip and orange decals.

I have a very late silstar cataloge in the post ATM which has the edge range in it so should be able to see quite how big the edge range was, which might get expensive, so far I have edge bass, feeder, and carp rods.

They almost certainly wont have a clue what you are talking about. Silstar went bust in the late 90s and the company called silstar these days is just some company that flogs nondescript cheap junk with the silstar name on it as they bought the rights to use the name of the proper company that went bust years earlier.

My catalogue from the late 90s turned up yesterday, the edge bass was £124.95 20 years ago and there was a 12ft 4-6 oz beachcaster to match in the same diaflex construction. £169.95. I didn't know about that, the one I had been after was the three piece fixed spool continental version, which isn't in the british catalogue.

Nowhere near as good looking but they did a bass rod in the traverse x range which has the same dimensions weight and, from what I gather, action as the edge. I have seen a couple of those come up for sale.

:) I've got the Traverse X Special which I believe is the bass rod. Used it for float fishing, ledgering and spinning, a good all rounder. :)
