ok, in the attached pic, is a hound caught today (left) which was estimated at 7lb (it was a fair bit heavier than the 6lb bass that was weighed), not the hound on the right is my pb, it was estimated by someone at 6lb, i've scaled the two pics (using the measurement tween my eyes :blink: !!), and the one on the right is clearly longer, and about as deep in body where my hand is,

can anyone, with a good experience of hounds, offer a revised weight estimate ?

lol, i wouldn't say i'm so much a tart, maybe a wannabe tart ! i used to have some scales but they screwed up pretty quick when i started sea fishing, haven't bought any since,

Hard to say as you are holding the two fish very differently.

At a guess the one on the right is about 7lb?
Skinny as a rake so if t's length is as good as it looks it would be closer to 9lb fattened up a bit.

i see what you mean Tom, the hound on the left (7lb) has turned his head slightly, he was all head ! the other is as deep (if you look at my fingers holding around it's belly) but longer, giving it a slimmer look,

i guess at the end of the day it doesn't really matter does it ! i was just curious !
