Both these areas are ok, however the main quarry is flounder... pretty much the same up and down the cumbria side of the solway coast.... I tend to go up to Port Carlisle, a bit further up the coast. Flounder again! The tide is a bit rapid and fishing probably best on the flood.. the last two hours, especially on evening tide. I usually use a two hook standard rig with a couple of attractor beads...bait best with lug or rag. Park opposite the first cottage on north end of village and walk directly down to water.
Same game plan for silloth area really..... although some people spin or bait fish for bass at low tide from the beach, often southern end.... past golf course entrance / harbour. Hope some of this helps.
