Planning a night session with some mates on 31st July.

Never fished for smoothhound before and fancy having a go, just wondered if there is any chance of seeing one if we fished Cley, Salthouse or Weybourne?

I presume crab baits would be best? any local tackleshops stock peeler or frozen? Do we have to fish at distance?

Any help would be much appreciated, if its not worth bothering please be blunt!

as for the chance of catching them it will depend on the weather imo to be honest if it settled for a while before then you could do

distance normaly helps but i have had them at high tide casting no more than 30 yards fishing for bass

i would think that the lincs coast would be a better chance but if you want to fish norfolk then i dont see why you wont if the weather is ok

if you do go i might pop down and have a fish too unless it is imposing

I wouldnt bother mate. Has been very weedy and nothing much coming to bait now on the shingle. Smoothies show May-June but is 'here today and gone the next' fishing and not consistent. Lincs probably better

Wouldent even bother with the Linc's coast at the moment......hounds are not hitting the beaches.....well not for me anyway and no reports of any
