So took day off work yesterday decided and give Cogden ago this my first time back at chisel this year and I’ll fish it a lot from now on and altho reports haven’t been great and lack of reports on here have been none existent this is chisel and anything can happen . Got there bang on low with the beach to myself sea was choppy but easily fishable first mistimed cast resulted in a good size Mac on a pop up black saved cast out my other rod rag and squid and had an instant bite defo smoothie long story short had 2 more in two casts then nothing till ht then had another 3 including a spirted pup that took Mac strip on pop up featherd for a bit just to get use to my new cobra light and had a few joeys and a couple of scad tried for a bass in close but no takers decide to leave about 8 . So my best hound session I’ve ever had biggest matching my pb of 6.7 lb and great sport I popped back seaton Devon on way home to try for a small eye with a mate but just straps left there at 12 . Nice to be back on the big beach and to get a half decent sesh under me belt I’ll be back soon chaseing the flats cheers ma Bute’s

Well done mate and good to see a chesil report!

Obviously the beach has been deserted because we haven’t had one for weeks :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Not the flatties you were after but no one can be unhappy with a busy session like that.

I was slightly disappointed as when I saw the words ‘smutty session’ I was thinking of my favourite bush down there :cautious:

Chesil has been patchy..... but will fish well after all of this has died down.
Crabs are massively thinning out now.
No reports from me lately. I have been bassing lure n bait local and doing some social trips further afield and bloody busy.
I am not posting my bass stuff this year...... too many lurkers although I may do a compilation post on the lure page and on here.
Still the sole will start turning up in a fortnight and I will be after the tasty little blighters with a vengeance!.

I suspect chesil will start fishing its head off as soon as it's full of visitors!

Its that chesil time of the year...... it will fish well on springs when theres some colour and die on its ass in neaps when its clear...... but this thread shows how to capitalise on chesil catch whats in front of you..... big bag o smuts in the sunshine, it does not get much better than that in July.
Good effort in good fish out.
