Decided on a quick trip tonight to try and tempt some bass. Unfortunately the steep shelf on my chosen mark has now gone so thats my excuse for not catching any. Did manage 3 dogfish so they seem to like the flat beach. Lovely night, saw a few shooting stars and walked back through the dunes by the light of the moon.
No pictures of the doggies, but here is something I haven't seen for a long time.

In case you have never seen one, its the core to a spool of bait elastic. I usually loose it before it gets emptied.

Not seen one of them, ever !
The Mackerel I often use for bait rots it long before the end of the spool, lol.
Keep at it, the bass are still about, i caught a 5lb er one year in early Febuary out of the Usk.
