Headed out late afternoon down south loaded with prime dug rag ,launce, sandeel, squid,no macky cos you always get macky in the summer  Malc, myself & Malcs 13 yr old nephew, after the usual yomp to the mark the aim was a wrasse bash first & then see wat turns up at distance out on the sand.Well all i can say is that the wrasse were bloody hungry with at least two reaching 5lb lost count of how many landed but good sport,
the wrassing was rudly interupted when Malcs retchet ran resulting in this little baby, his first spotty,he was like a dog with two d---s
after that the wrasse were put on hold but i think the doggies were hitting the baits first so no more ray, another surprise was a small codtet
While chasing the macky there were pollack to 2lb & a soitry herring,as dusk fell other than the occasional doggie it went dead,conger/huss baits untouched, even a float with a whole squid couldnt tempt a hit but it was an enjoyable trip & although overcast a warm night,We have also noticed that in our last 3 trips out we have had good fish (23lb eel,9lb huss) in bright sunny conditions, does this mean no more late nights.
