we are thinking about taking a jaunt southwards for a bash. where would people recommend? easier accesible marks preferably as my old man doesny like the rocks/cliffs. have read about south shields peir before... do u need permission to fish on there or something?

any info appreciated!

think they close the gates on roker pier when the sea is up. dunstonbourgh castle is a good mark. its flat but you need to fish off the cliffs and its a good walk.

They do close the Gates everynight on South Sheilds Pier, but you just climb around seaward side and nobody bothers you. Unless the sea if big and coming over the top. They close the gates on Roker pier when the sea is up but if its not up there are usually open 24-7.
