Spigot damage

493 Views 6 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  u0347108
I've recently bought a conoflex rod (not sure of the exact model, quite old, looks like its made of carbon, long tip/short butt section)

The spigot is the plug-in type, with the tip going into the butt section.
This rod was previously jammed together and looks like its experienced some damage to the female join trying to get the sections apart. The carbon's chipped (upper layer seems to have come away from lower layers) and the visible damage runs down the blank about 1/4 inch at the most.

What would anyone recommend doing with the rod to repair this? Cutting the female section down a bit maybe?- if so how far?

Thanks in advance for any info.
