can anyone help?

I've just got a Greys 3 piece outfit - haven't used it as yet, but just assemled it on getting home & noticed that the spigots are v.tight butting into each other.

Theres approx' 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch gap between them butting together snugly. Is this normal or will this dissaper with use. Should they , as with other rods I've had butt up snugly?

Cheers.

All new rods have this. Personally i think that 3/4 is a bit too much of a gap. U need to BE VERY CAREFUL with a peice of fine sand paper on the spigot. rub round the spigot rather that the length of the spigot. 1/2 an inch gap would be fine. as this will get smaller with use.

Hope this helps

I have had rods with a gap of 3/4" and left it alone. I have used 6oz weights with big baits and launched it all far as I can. The rod has come to no harm.

Measure how much of the spigot is actually inserted into the other pieces. If you think it is not enough, call Greys ( 01665 510020)

Don't take any notice of Tomowales (he's been s*****n too many sheep):)

LEAVE THE JOINT ALONE !!!!

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR IT WITH SAND PAPER!!!!!

Spigot joints are meant to have a gap of half an inch +.
