Hi, yes all these rules definitely apply when using mono as your mainline, cos of it's stretch value, but with braid, be extra cautious as it has little or no shock resistance, and if anything goes wrong with your cast, eg. a knot catching somewhere or line around your tip ring, forgetting to take off the bail arm (it has been done!)....BANG, bye bye lure, but braid is very nice to use with lures. cheers:thumbs:

Beginner here, im looking for lures under 35g that could catch multiple species, as ive heard that bass start to show up less at this time. i fish mostly off rocks/cliff areas but occasionally the beach. ive got some weedless savage gear sticks, a savage gear seeker, a gold an unbranded surface...
How would you guys fish soft plastics with or without jig heads in front of a stream mouth in the middle of a beach. It is reasonably fast flowing. Should i just keep the line taut in the flow and not retrieve at all?
each week , i go to the river to hunt my favorite fish : asp . Every 4-5 hours session , i have 8-14 bites with 5 to 10 fish out .
they are whimsical when weather is calm ( like at the moment ) but after september , it's far better : good fish are out and you can catch a lot when they hunt .
