well just before i start this thread i just want to say a really big thankyou to pintail ( dick) for the great advice and helping me out last night to get a few mini species to add to my list and achieve my target he put me right on the spot where he new ide get the fish i needed .
myself scorpio and 1rodbri got to weymouth carpark wall at 4-00pm they both got set up on the wall but i went over onto the plesier pier where i met up with pintail and his brother already set up fishing , so had a chat about what species i was going to target and it was going to be gobies , so dick kindly showed me the set up we would be using and when i saw the hooks i thougt blimey they are small so got set up with tinyiest pieces of rag ever and dropped down underneath the pier and whitin seconds into whitting not the fish i need , so of i go again and then species number 27 comes up a black goby so well pleased getting 1 new species but 2 mins later species 28 comes up and now ive not seen a rock goby before but pintail showing me the yellow markings onto its spin so now ive learnt something new , so now on 28 if diddent get anymore ide be happy so after a chat for 10 mins with pintail and his brother about there great species hunt this week on there holidays i got back to it and pulled in a few more whitting and pouting and loads wrasse but was great fun on theses small hooks , next up was a common goby which now was species 29 so 1 more to go and what could it be next and to my surprise pulling up out the water looked like bottom of a flounder till turned over and seen the spots and smooth back it was species 30 and it was a plaice , felt like i just won the lottery but if it wasent for pintail showing me where to fish i wouldent have got them last night .
so now i got to try give something back to pintail for the help he gave myself so we went back over to carpark wall to join the others hoping to get pintail into a golden grey mullet for his list as ive caught 2 in two weeks now . maccyman joined us around 7-30 once again had a great laught between us . but for the fishing was so poor everycast it was pouting and whitting all night long which was a real pain so no mullett showed up i did get myself another small plaice and a small flounder amoungst all the little stuff , but i only left the lads for 5 mins to go up on pier to have a chat with chesilmaster ( matt ) and recordeater (pete) and when comming back i just missed ian houlton driving out of the carpark what ide give to have seen him last night never mind i can go see him in a min and have nice cup of coffee and tell him all about my 30 species this year 1 by 1 .
im not posting pics on this thread as my pics arnt that clear and pintail took all the shots on his camera as you guys know mini species close up on mine is rubbish so soon as he gets back from holiday saturday ill have the pics to show you that they have been caught .
