Had a day off from work so thought I would take advantage of the break in the weather and headed down to St Osyth. Fished the bird reserve end from high water down 4 hours. Couldn't get any lug so just had some rag and squid, but after my last effort with rag down there a few weeks ago I was a bit more confident of some fish this time around. First fish of the day came about an hour in to the session, a small codling of about half a pound. That seemed to signal the start of the feeding and I was hoping there would be a few more codling straight after, but it wasn't to be. Finally, after a couple of hours wading through whiting I had good knock which produced a codling of a pound and a quarter. After another half an hour of whiting fun I cracked off and as it was getting dark I took it as a sign and packed up and headed home.
