hi
I have just started back fishing, havnt been since I used to go as a kid to Swansea pier in the 80’s
Went to aberavon last Thursday, by the dunes/old people’s home, bought rag worm from dragon, we caught a few small bass must of had about 10 on the incoming tide.

Any local advice anyone? Anything I need to know? , I’m not for from aberavon or go to west wales a lot so would’t mind going to Saundersfoot or something like that.

Thanks
Jimi

Welcome Jimi.
I had this off the beach a coupla weeks ago, parked by the naval club and walked through the dunes.
Not huge, but for this newbie it was awesome :)

I didn't weigh it, but you can see by the steelworks roughly how far up I was.
Loads of schoolies on rag too for my friend, plus a juvenile small-eyed.
Even I got brave enough to put a rag on ( I'm scared of them ) and had a schoolie within 30 seconds.
A guy just down from us lost a good bass using lug that he'd pumped at LT.

The ray in my pic took whole squid that I threw out at LT and then walked the rod up the beach. Maybe 15 turns of line left on the spool when I had the bite, so a fair way out.
Not a biggie by any means, but one happy angler!
