That's strange i was just reading a glowing report about fugu line in this months TSF.....
I cant believe they would have a false review in a fishing mag lol.....

My worst buy was the pair of F/S AFAW 6&baits mk2, so many people raving on how good they were made me want them, as soon as I opened the rod tube and got them out I didn't like them, the bags are crap, the guides too small and flimsy, too many for a F/S rod, also crap reel seats, so put minima 4's on then still didn't like them as the tips are rubbish at showing small bites, sold them on as I soon realised that my RG Supercasts were much better rods, Humbug

Mag reviews are always in the favour of the item reviewed, so never any bad points advised, it also amazes me the lack of detail in items advertised specially rods, they rarely say exactly what guide types are fitted and the size and number, I'm a fixed spool man and it bugs me trying to find a suitable rod when most adverts say it will do both, not so as I like large guides on my fixed spool rods and not going to change,so many people now dabble in rod rebuilds now it would be good idea to sell part built rods or just the blanks so people can fit their own stuff instead of putting up with the crap they factory fit, expensive blanks are available but not in the mid prices

We've already got a room 101 thread running and it's blindingly obvious that this thread was started just to have a dig at Fugu. Should've been closed.
Your sounding like a paranoid zziplex owner.

I fell for it. I tried it. I speak as I find.

Just for you I will add peanut worms.

Now tell me its a conspiracy
Merry Xmas.

Had the misfortune of putting a century c curve against a 34lb shore tope

Absolute dung and dragged me all over the shop Give me my bullet any day.

I was really looking forward to using this but got rid of quick smart. What a disappointment. With 57 shore tope Landed by myself this year it only got one crack at one fish.

I'd still try an Excalibur TT though surely it's got a better butt for bullying when needed.

I am surprised to hear that, as it is made from high quality carbon matrix and is considered the equivalent of the Kompressor SS, but better, and Danny Moeskops managed to tame a 157lb Bronze on it?
It is made of the same material as my much thinner lure rod, which will bend back on itself and has already easily tamed an 18lb pike, a 13lb salmon and some big rock pollock.
I reckon I could tame a blue fin on mine with the right reel, and there is only so much force a man can put through a rod. A slightly shorter one that bends through the butt makes for a much easier fight than a longer one with stiff butt.
Are you sure you are not guilty of just being nervous of it's ability to bend, rather than it's inability to deal with it?
Not having a go, you just surprise.

Closed till I or one of the other Mods give this thread a dose of bleach and clean it up. Sorry.

Thread now heavily cleaned up.

My apologies for the time took, but I do have a life away from the forum.

Also my apologies for the mass deletion of off topic threads, the thread is about tackle purchased that was not as good as it was meant to be.
Not fishing methods, C&P issues etc etc.

Please feel free to report any off topic posts I have missed.

Hi ,

for me it must be Berkley Nanofil : i gave a spool of 0.12mm/6.9kg to my son as a birthday present , and the stuff kept braking while casting 10/15g lures ; the 2nd spool a got from the shop was as bad ... never again !

leeda icon's re branded with the same crap rust prone rings, nice enough blanks but at near on 180 quid in some places they could have fixed the biggest flaw in the original not just put a new sticker on. Sorry but at that price just not cutting the mustard against the competition . Already threads running about rings cracking or falling off, don't matter how good the angling press say they are facts are facts.

180 would buy you an icon re rung with titanium minimas ;) then all you'd have to worry about was the beautiful actions and the lovely tips
