just bought some storm wildeye sandeels.... any one any idea on whats the best way to rig them up...... and what sort of fish will go for them from the shore (rocks)...

Hi Aldge,,,
Mainline tied to a 3-way swivel then tie approx 3ft of 10-12lb mono to to the opposite end of the 3-way. Clip swivel tied to the end of that leader then attach the eel.
A 1 or 2oz plain lead is then attached to the side swivel on the three way by means of a split ring.
Bass,pollock and mackerel are favourite but bass sometimes shy away from the lead.

cheers matey,,,,,, they look the buisness hope they work..... also bought some storm swimming crabs...... do i fish them the same way...... ive heard you can fish them on a sliding float method....

No probs mate...the wildeyes are the dogs danglies but as for the crabs....never used em...didn`t fancy the look of em.

Anyone else tried the crabs.

(There you go ....I`ve opened the door for all the crab jokes again)

They sure do look the dog wotsits don't they !!!

I purchased some earlier this year, but haven't really tested them properly yet. I have had one fish on them (pollack) and that took on the drop. Up to now I have been fishing them similar to how Terry describes, but the other week I was playing about rigging them 'Texas Style' (google it for an explanation). I do think that (or a small gumball jighead) gives them a great action and it is this method that I am going to explore further with them.

My anticipated targets are pollack and mackerel.

I reckon they would also do well on a fly rod - especially the smaller 4 inch versions.

a light carp rod with a baitrunner reel and jelly worms
then hit a nice bass

almost as nice as a 15 pound carp

I like the sound of jigging them Manx...never gave it any thought before.
Definately going to give that a try and let you know.

What sort of retreive speed is best for shads, worms etc when fished off the beach?
I also agree that in the right weather a carp rod and 1 to 2 oz of lead to a baited trace gives far better sport than a traditional beach outfit can provide.
