Hi Guys,

Thinking of heading out on Sunday in my 5.0m RIB for a day off the south coast for a days' fishing. From the Boatlaunch website launch slipways into the channel off the SE coast seem to be few and far between - Littlehampton (not at all bad), and then Rye Harbour and the narrow slipway in Dover Harbour (used that years ago for a 3.4m Zodiac). I refuse to pay the exorbitant launch/recovery fees of Simpsons at Newhaven and only for a limited period.

Does anybody have any suggestions or advice on the above three as a start point - or others, and what to go for? Quiet happy to go 10+ miles offshore, depending on what target species are available. The tides seem to be favourable for launch/recovery from 10am through to 6pm.

Thanks,

Scrottocks

Hi Scruttocks, Rye Slip will be busy this weekend as the tides are good and it looks like a decent flat sea for a change!. That said you have a RIB and a very shallow draft so you can get out before the speedboat/cruiser merchants turn up.
Bass are a bit slow this year off Rye, but theres a few Plaice about inshore on the sand-banks and plenty of Cod if you dont mind punching out a bit. Rob
