Hi Gents,
I know we have a few surfers among us, so I wonder if they can explain a surf report.

Surf Primary Swell Secondary Swell
3-5ft 5 ft 12s 0.6ft 22s 1.9ft 5s

This is a sample from Magic seaweed
What are primary swells, secondary swells and how does the time between swells effect fishing
Cheers Brian

If you click on the "Primary Swell Secondary Swell " it tells you some clues.
Primary swells are generally longer period (10-30s ish) larger waves generated as groundswell over a long fetch. Secondary might be more local due to weather and winds in the vicinity and tends to be smaller, shorter period (more frequent, every 6-20s). If the two coincide you will get bigger waves on a longer timescale where every 3 secondary might coincide with every 2 primaty for example ( or whenever there is a common ration btween the two). As for the fishing, probably depends....
