for your first trip it would be best to find a spot where you dont have to keep moving or have to scramble over rocks etc only go in good weather until u are aware of your surroundings only go in the day time and try to visit the chosen spot before your fishing day so u can get to know the area the golden rule in fishing is to stay safe a jetty or pier a sea wall with railing would be a good starting point most new anglers struggle with casting and its easy to lose your balance if the cast goes wrong another good starting point is to learn tying knots practice these at home its harder when u have cold hands you will only need one knot at first look up the improved clinch knot i use this for nearly all my fishing if you can do a good knot the rest will follow good luck on your first trip and remember to do a report of how u got on :)
