fishd swansea pier on sunday with my 5 year old son and a friend of his . lovely weather not many fish.a few did catch .A couple of kids of about 12 years of age caught a nice little trigger and then killed it with a hammer.there was no sign of an adult with them.nobody said anything to them and when i asked them why they had killed it i was told they did not know.I explained that they should have put it back to grow bigger and breed ect.they did not want to know.plenty of people out for a nice day walked out on the pier and saw this dead fish with its head caved in. we are all responsible for keeping fishing in the public domain, this sort of behaviour, along with litter, gives all the anties plenty of arguments to ban the sport.please more clubs more education less stupid selfish lazy behaviour and lets help ourseleves and protect our sport for generations to come

thats totally not on!:uhuh:

they were blessed to catch a trigger with the number on here that strive for them, and they just dont appreciate it!

where do you start though without it being too controversial, too expensive, not their jurisdiction etc etc etc! if you put up signs, could they even read it?

Firstly, welcome to the site, and secondly, good on ya for at least going up and asking these "youngsters" why they caught and caved the head in of a fish that they had the privilage to catch,, if more people were willing to stand up and approach these "idiot kids" who do this sort of thing, then maybe, just maybe some of it will sink in and they may develop into pretty well adjusted adults,, Tight 'uns,, Marc..

Giving recipes for cooking triggerfish, apparently they are quite good to eat, & only in the UK are they returned on a regular basis. Lets remember lads that provided it was above the MLS, they were quite entitled LEGALLY to kill it & eat it, in fact I think that provided its over the MLS, what they do with it is their business.:g:
Many of us set a "moral high ground" that not everybody agrees with, & although something like this upsets some, we dont make the rules!;)

I dont really blame the kids Where are thier parents or peers to help them. I just hope they learn from this and move on. What really winds me up is that this can happen at all .

After they were asked why they killed it they did say they didn't know!
If they said they were going to cook it fair enough! :nono:

Terrible - How many negative posts have been made about this venue in the last year. Either about rubbish or brainless idiots. I don't fish it anymore.
