[bolchy bass]

Hi fellow fishermen bolchy bass here went fishing yesterday morning on swansea pier with roy the rass loaded up with lug dug from swansea bay mostly by me by the way cos roy the rass struggles latelly anyways we also tried feathers spinners but cought ziltch can anyone tell me if they have cought anything off there this year.

I think it fishes much better in Winter than Summer. Unless the mackerel are in (which they haven't been this year), I don't think you catch much there.

only fished there a few times this year havent seen anything outstanding the odd bream and smallish bass plenty of gurnard and a few mackrel now and then think theyve been picking up the odd trigger fish aswell

Its been pant since they dredged it mate not much been caught down there winter is better but not as good as it was.

One of my favourite summers, but I think I caught a few more last year. Targetted mullet instead of bass in the hols. Saves looking for crab! :laugh:

ive been there quite a few times this year & its crap, early on this yr in march i caught nice size doggie & a v nice dab along with smaller dabs but last month all u get it lousy 4 or 5 in whiting & the odd doggie if yr lucky, in fact its blanked a few times

sorry guys but i beg to differ!!, on my last 2 outings to the good old west pier i tried a different method and a few other people fishing there at the time laughed, that was until me and a friend had quite a few tidy sized bass using a float which we just dropped of the side loaded with a piece of mackrel. well worth a go in my opinion.

what depth was the bait set below the float?

yeah worked a treat, i agree with you seems to be picking up caught those bass and a few monster bites just dropping it of the edge deffo recomend the float though worked well

was on the river side. bait was set at around 9ft deep.
