OK got a rod and reel and few bit's n bob's...and want to put a few swivels in the tackle box are 10's bigger that 6's and of corse is that relative to the breaking strain of the swivel

10's are smaller than 6's mate , they go in the same size increments as hooks. 10's i'd use for snood swivels and either 2's or 1's for the main rig swivel.

Best bet is nip down the tackle shop get the size, and buy what you need.

if you are making rigs go for a size 1 for the rig body and a size 6 for the hook snoods, as the size 1 is bigger then the size 6.
