thought it might be a good idea, ( with winter fast approaching ) to put a list of tackle shops on here. mainly for the bait side of things.
would also be great if our favourite east coast mod could sticky it. :victory:

yeah no probs. wasn't meant as free advertising for the shops, just thought it might save a bit of time for people looking for bait shops when fishing the wall.

Can anyone recommend a decent tackle shop near or within easy reach of Spurn Head.

Had a discussion with someone who may be organising a fishing expedition up that way and want to be prepared

Thanks

Here's the shop I use.

The guys in there are really friendly and offer excellent advice.

Fishing Tackle 4U
2 Midland Buildings
Skegness Road,
Ingoldmells
Lincolnshire
PE25 1NP
01754 874950

There's a sister shop with the same name on Roman Bank road, going into Skegness from Ingoldmells.

No fresh bait from the Skegness shop, unfortunately. Best to 'phone a day or so in advance of pick up to ensure availability.

Cheers

Sean

Right gentlemen,
I have had the all clear from Mike, and the thread will stay stuck til further notice....

BUT !!!!!!!!!!!!

Only the local shops relevent to the area will be permitted...

No links to on line mail order type stores will be allowed, and if any are posted they will be removed immediately, and the thread has to go....

Those are the only stipulations, and I am sure we will respect them.....

Afterall,we are a good bunch here on the east coast aren't we ?....

Not good news I'm afraid. I've just heard that my local tackle shop, Bailey's Sports, in Sutton-on-Sea will be closing down in the next couple of weeks. I'm aware that they didn't sell fresh sea bait, but they were handy for just about everything else!! I'll certainly miss the shop.

Now THAT,is going to be a sorry thing........

They are the only place I know of,besides in Ingoldmells, that had regular stocks of frozen lug..........

It will be a shame, and they WILL be missed.........

Always has bait through the winter, fresh lug and ragworm. Blacks and frozen crabs + 2 freezers of other frozen bait! Used the shop since he opened over 6 years ago and never been let down (or cut down) on an order as yet!

Good news for Lincs. sea fishermen! I was told today by Phil. Bailey of Baileys Tackle shop in Sutton on Sea that the sale of his shop fell through on the very day contracts were due to be exchanged. It was a bit of a shock for him, I'm sure, but he now intends to restock the shop and keep the business going until such time he gets a buyer for "a going concern". The "closing down sale" as now been withdrawn. I also asked him about the prospect of stocking fresh lug. He says he is not against the idea, in principle, for sometime in the future, but he has had his "fingers burnt" in the past by customers not turning up to collect and pay for bait previously ordered.
Anyway, I'm pleased that I've still got a tackle shop a short distance away!
THANK COD FOR FISHING!!

That is great news Paul !!!!!!!!:clap3::clap3::clap3:

If I could afford the mortgage,I would consider the place, because at the minute,I would gladly leave this hovel for friendlier climes.........

And if I was the owner,I would personally have you get the fresh lug in for me....

No doubt he will be getting plenty of custom from me this winter.........
