Hi to all. Looking to start shore fishing around the Tay area of East Scotland. Any advice on fishing spots, tackle/set-up and likely species is greatly appreciated. Are any permits required for shore fishing?

Cheers in advance.

Welcome Brian,
You do not need a permit unless your at an estuary and if you catch Sea Trout or Salmon.
What are you hoping to catch.
There are lots of good marks in your general area

Thanks for the reply. Not looking for sea trout or salmon. Mackeral, flatties etc would be my aim or any others that may arise. I normally just bait fish for trout on the Isla.

Spots and baits are probably the first I'd need to learn.

Cheers

Hi Steven. Can you suggest hook sizes I should consider around the Tay estuary? Cheers,

Brian
