I fished Canvey for 3 hours this afternoon with mackerel strips and lug. I was after flounders but ended up with 10 whiting, a micro codling and 7 bass to just over a pound!
I won't tell you where abouts on the island I was but it's not that big so I'm sure you will be able to find a spot where you to can get in on the bass action. Just thought I'd let you know they are showing. :fish::fish::fish::fishing::clap::victory:

4oz breakaway leads. 1 foot snoods clipped down and cast onto the mudflats accounted for the fish

I've had more Canvey bass this week than I had in the whole of last year!

just wait till them crab are in full swing then the proper bass will show. last year was crap on the island but plenty on the boats
