my species are kept on my sig, i stuggle to recall them all otherwise (run out of fingers !), theres a good few not on there yet, but i'm working on them,

i don't tend to count fish numbers, maybe when seeing who catches most on a particular evening, but not a running tally, i couldn't even guess tbh, much of the time i fish with big baits anyways, reducing the chances of catching smaller, more numerous fish.

Sad as I am I record every session I go on...

Time, Tides,Weather, fish caught etc which helps.

I also update my signature if I get a new species

I keep a fishing diary mate and keep statistics from every year!
An addict to the fishing i am!
Tightlines.............
Likewise, I keep a diary of every trip and have stats for all the marks I fish. Helps me to decide where to go and when. This year is looking pretty poor so far but I have managed a new species - Golden Grey Mullet! Chuffed to bits with that one.

Doing poorly on the species front this year as I've not had a enough time to get out fishing as much as I'd like. Finished last year with 19 but I haven't even counted this year, probably about 6 at a push lol!

Still got a long summer to make up for it :)

so far so good this year, a few common fish not yet caught. Target 40 species.
Species hunting with light tackle, the way to go to enjoy your fishing.
