I’ve been posting on here a while now and this weekend my time finally come for my first shore fishing session.
Armed with my 10ft spin rod and some tackle I headed off to Pakefield, Suffolk.. (a campsite just down the road in between Pakefield and Kessingland).
I found a tackle shop and asked the chap for some lug and rag worm, he told me Squid was best so I got some of that and purchased some bait elastic.
I got to the beach to see 2 other anglers who packed up not long after I got there.
I didn’t hold out much hope as the tackle shop owner hardly sold me dreams haha.
1st problem I had was I only had a 2oz lead so didn’t get far out at all.
I also wasn’t to aware on what to look for when I got a bite, I didn’t see my rod being pulled over in any case.
I used a ready made flapper rig.
I had no luck as expected but could you guys let me know where I went wrong?
I tried some feathering but did think mackeral do not visit such areas however I nan visiting Weymouth end of the month so wanted to try get some technique in.
Any criticism or pointers please let me know.
