Meanwhile I would like to thank Mark (who I have never met) for his time and effort in getting us back on the wall, really looking forward to the winter now as I was unable to treck down the cliff due to a dodgy knee. Come on guys lets put all this pettiness to bed and enjoy our fishing eh ?

Moncrieff,,,as is his way,,will be sitting back and rubbing his hands in glee at the way this thread has turned. Can a mod please tidy it as the messages to Mark thanking for him a job well done should not be lost amongst all the petty bickering. I`m very saddened and dismayed to see a thread about some good news turn this way.

To update everyone on the permit sales, as of 10.25am today Thursday
18th August a total of 118 permits have been sold.

We can announce also that work is now under way to put in place a national Sea Angling Championship for 2012 on the lower walk, this will be a two day charity event to raise money for the North West air ambulance, open to young and old, we are talking to some big names in the Sea fishing world who have said they would support it.

More details soon.

Regards,
Mark,
Head of the lower walk Campaign.

:clap::clap::clap:

I have just had to ring them back because being a numpty like i am i gave them the wrong reg on mi car, i but it down to being tired  through night work.

I also said that i was told forms would be sent out but as of yet nothing has been recieved, The lady was very pleasant and told me that all the forms will be sent out together once they have all the applications in.

So come on guys !!!! theres still a few left to go before they send them out :victory:

Ill let mark give you the update on amount sold but what i can tell you is its more than marks update above this post :clap::clap:

Spotted this on the Gazette website over the weekend, and phoned up first thing this morning. Huge thanks to all that helped to get this through, looking forward to my first session on there!

(PS the lady I spoke to said that the permits were going very quickly, and the line was almost constantly engaged this morning).

Gave "The Office" a ring this morning to ask if the relevant paperwork had been sent out yet and the lady on the other end informed me that her fingers were worn down to stumps with all the typing she was doing in an effort to get all tha paperwork out, we should be getting it in the next couple of days (finger stumps permitting):clap3::yeah::yeah::thumbs:

It is with sad news that I have to inform some of you who either have a Transit sized van OR a Camper van ( with or without the Blue Badge )that permits will NOT be issued, on the declaration page of the paperwork received from the permit dept it asks if the vehicle is UNDER 1.53 tonnes (30 cwt) if its over the permit will not be granted . There is no way round it legally as they require photo copy Vehicle Registration Document and Insurance Certificate. I spoke to the top man in Parking Services who would not waver the exclusion :nono:even after I had stated that my only mode of transport was a Transit Van !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::doh::wah:
And before any sarcastic comments come back like "Get a Car" ( I will not be resposible for the reply back)
Ive been re-embursed with the £30

Rang up this morning to get a permit and was told the 200 have been allocated and I could add my name to the reserve list!. This leads my to ask why when Blackpool is spending millions to attract people to the town they have restricted the number of permits to 200 thus reducing possible visitors.
