In order to make sure that everyone knows well in advance, this years Mark Alsop Memorial Open Match will be held on Sunday 27th October at Great Yarmouth.

This is a perfect tide for the venue and posters will be distributed to tackle shops within the next few weeks.

Draw at 08.45 a.m. at the Lacon Arms and fishing 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Match pool and 10 peg sections pools as well as biggest flat and biggest round fish pools.

As usual all proceeds will go to the MacMillan Nurses at the James Paget Hospital.

The event also incorporates the Harrison Smith Memorial Cup for juniors.

Thank you all for past support.

Entry will be £10 all in with £3 from each entry going directly to the Nursing Charity collection.

Hi folks,

Here is the poster confirming arrangements for this years' Mark Alsop Challenge Cup Charity match

I will be really grateful if any of you can help to distribute these. If you need any send me a PM and I'll post to you

I've got yours in hand Jake.

Steve, Keith & Roger are also on the case.

The pub is booked, we just need a good day and hope to raise a lot of money for the good cause as always.

We published the date for this year in mid May, so look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there.

thanks for your continued support.

Just a reminder folks, we are less than 6 weeks away from this year's charity event

Ticket bookings are now picking up nicely (yes Paul & Terry, your double peg is reserved) and fish are just starting to show it seems.

Let's hope that we have another successful event and can once again make a substantial contribution towards the magnificent work done by the MacMillan Nurses.

The signs are looking good for another successful event I'm pleased to say.

I'm told that fish are showing regularly on Yarmouth beaches now, with some big Dabs, good Whiting and the odd small Codling adding a bit of variety.

Anglers are booking up for the match with phone calls most days at present.

Please remember that double pegs are available throughout the match, but MUST be booked in advance.

Numbers picking up a bit now and lots of fish showing too

Hopefully that weather will stay as forecast with WSW breeze and dry.

More double pegs booked up today, fish with your mate and book in before Saturday to get a double peg

I'm really pleased to say that I've just taken a call to confirm that several well-known match anglers have decided that despite the weather forecast, or maybe because of it, they have now booked for our match at Great Yarmouth tomorrow.

With plenty of fish showing I hope that we're going to have another successful event and a good sum will be raised for the MacMillan Palliative Care Nursing team

Draw 08.30 am at The Lacon Arms, Alderson Road, Great Yarmouth. If you want to fish next to your mate please remember DOUBLE PEGS MUST BE BOOKED BY 6 p.m. tonight.
