We fished back of the boats last night.

Hardly August weather was it.

We fished low water up to 11pm, first cast we had to walk 60 yards or so out onto the sand then walk up back to the shingle to the rod rest. Had a nice schoolie on the first chuck just below size limit, in about 3 feet of water in the surf.

After that it was dead for a bit, and then the Whiting came with the darkness and the tide, which pulled hard even behind the boats, must have been tough to hold out on the point! Then the weed came, the finest green stuff you have ever seen that just knotted onto the line washing line style, all the way down the mainline, making reeling in a joke. I'll take leader knot weed anyday after that.

At 11pm we decided to call it a day, a combination of darkness, rain, wind and weed, and all what was there was small Whiting made us see sense.
