Third Time Unlucky? Pendennis Point, Falmouth

Decided to walk up to Pendennis Point in Falmouth this morning for the 3rd trip this year. Left the house at 6:50 am got there and set up my new Ian Golds Supermatch rod stand for the 1st time tightened up the butt cups and the plastic holding it on snapped off!! So I'm a butt cup down before I've unzipped my rod bag; when the stand arrived in the post 2 of the clips on the leg were broken and the top bit that holds the rods in place would not stay tight and kept slanting, shocking! That's the last time I buy anything by Golds, also the leg lock kit and trace bar is made from the same crappy composite weak plastic that cost me over £20 just for those and must have cost 20p to make in the factory.. I packed the wrong rig winder box so I only had 50lb beach rigs instead of the rotten bottoms that I made up with canny links and light 20lb snoods (I was using 26 lb main line) in case of a snag. Kept getting snagged with the beach rigs so decided to change the rigs around using 20lb amnesia and some rotten bottom links I had in my box. Complete nightmare; 2 hook flapper rigs already crimped down with springs and cascade so it was really hard to get the snoods right again was just messing about with rigs for ages, not fishing!! Sorted the snag problem out by changing the rigs around (with freezing fingers!)..

Anyway, rant over!! I did actually manage a bit of a rubbish PB with a 1lb 4oz 3 Bearded Rockling :sad2:.. At least it's 1 for the species count I suppose, never had one that big only seen 'em up to about 1/2 lb not even that; had to weigh it when I seen it's girth, head on it was a beast too!!

Baits were fresh Sprats & Squid from the Fishmonger + a Mackerel & a Bluey.. ^ He took a whole Sprat down the throat on a 4/0 2 Hook, Clip Down Rotten Bottom Rig (LOL) Beast of a rig!!

Better luck next time I hope, but still always an experience point up!!

Another Pic;

Yeah mate wasn't too bad, -2 C on the walk but was still sweating! LOL Stopped at Castle beach on the way home as well for half hour not a bite and full on snaggy..

Been out mate? Or got plans to fish anywhere?

What do you reckon POW is fishing like or the rough ground near Watermans?

It is best about an hour before high tide at dusk, I think.. Fish a cigar float at about 6-8 foot and a scratch rig (3 hook Flapper Cascade) on the other rod would be best I reckon. Or a running ledger & some Rag would do well down there, maybe try for Flatties with a spoon rig; Dabs & Flounder down there in there?!
