A Dogfish !

Seriously, amongst all Doggy hotpots, all the fish & different speices I have caught this year (last year !) - not one dogfish !
take a fast cat trip across to ryde pier any evening *stick a couple of baited hooks in the water, change the bait if you havent caught anything after 20 mins,
repeat from * for 2 hours.

if you dont catch one by then wellyou never will.
we have never blanked from ryde pier

A 10lb+ anything.
30 species.
450 fish.

and a minor miracle! still got an 8'11" last year, 25 species and 400 fish so if I can get out enough I may be able to fluke it

tight lines

well i aint did much fishing this year only had rockling,******,codling, coaly, dabs, flounder, plaice, and a star fish lol

I just want to go fishing more. I moved to west lothian from the east coast of Durham 7 years ago, down there it was 10 mins from house to first cast. Up here it's a bus two trains and a hike. Should have my own transport sorted by the summer so will hit some of the marks I didn't know existed past Eyemouth (thanks codhead bob and flounder al, great info) and get to some meets.

hmmm,

personally, i've had a very good year, i think. to my knowledge, in pevensey bay i've had both the biggest hound (6-7lb) and the biggest dog, 1lb 11oz (the dog might not sound much of an acheivement, but i know guy's who've fished the bay for 30yrs and never caught one from the shore !) caught in 2006, i also have the biggest bass of 5lb 15 1/2 oz this year (in the club), awell as some other nice fish,

for 2007, i would like to acheive the following from the bay....

2lb+ doggie
double figure smoothy,
a sizeable ray (never sen one in the bay)
a pb cod (anything of 2.5lb will do it !)
bream of more than 1lb 5oz,
beat my pb bass,
etc.

lastly, i'm gonna take the time to flyfish for mullet, macky, bass etc, and try to get 20 species on my club list, missed some obvious ones in 2006, namely wrasse, pollock, conger, etc, all of which i'm certain can be found tween cooden hotel and beachy head !

tight lines all.
