Does anyone use one of these?
I assume it`s going to be alot heavier than the Northstar but how does it compare in terms of light output. The convenience of it seems appealing.
Thanks,

Hi,

I use one of the thunderbolt lamps and yes it does weigh a fair bit although not unmanagable. I am impressed with the light output and although it is very bright due to it being electric the type of light is completely different. A friend has a northstar and it does seem as bright although it is ample light for any location I have visited so far, its just a colder white light rather than warm light you get from a tradional lamp.

It does have loads of real advantages, usually I have to charge the thing every second trip which is fine as it gives around 14 hours light on a full charge around 4 hrs.

Thing is very robust as well and mine has seen rain, surf and still survives as its waterproof also.

I hope this helps.

Reminds me need to put the thing on charge for a session monday night.

Cheers

James
