Was supposed to meet Basshunter 007 on the marshes this morning but he stood me up...felt quite jilted! Conditions looked better than yesterday with a gentle southerly wind ruffling the surface and a showing of cormorants it looked to have a bit more life than of late.
I still had some of Ians excellent king rag left so I kicked off with a single hook pat and a 3 foot snood the hook a size 1. The lead was a 5 oz breakaway with a leadlift to get over the rocks and rubble. The next two hours were total boredom with no sign of life and at 9am my phone rung...Pete. He was on the medicine last night and overdid it. At least he had a proper excuse..
Anyway as the tide dropped rapidly away I gave up fishing on top of the mud and awitched to a clipped down pulley rig and went over the drop off. A late flurry of 4 schoolies saved the blank but its omelettes again tonight!
